What is Lyocell?

lyocell: In 1989, the nternational Bureau Man-Made dairy produce, BISFA officially named the fibre produced by the process as “Lyocell”. “Lyo” is derived from the Greek word “Lyein”, which means dissolution, and “Cell” is from the beginning of the English Cellulose” cellulose “. The combination of “Lyocell” and “cellulose” means cellulose fibers produced by solvent method.

Therefore, Lyocell specifically refers to cellulose fibers produced with NMMO as the solvent

Lyocell: Lyocell fiber is the scientific name of the new solvent regeneration cellulose fiber, is the international general category name. Lessel is a big category, in the same category as cotton, silk and so on.

Lyocell is a brand new fiber produced from conifer wood pulp by solvent spinning. It has the “comfort” of cotton, the “strength” of polyester, the “luxurious beauty” of wool fabric, and the “unique touch” and “soft draping” of silk. No matter dry or wet, it is extremely resilient. In its wet state, it is the first cellulose fiber with a wet strength far superior to cotton. 100% pure natural materials, coupled with environmentally friendly manufacturing process, make the lifestyle based on the protection of the natural environment, fully meet the needs of modern consumers, and green environmental protection, can be called the 21st century green fiber.

Classidication of Lyocell

1.Standard type Lyocell-G100

2.Crosslinked Lyocell-A100

3.LF type

Technocology differences on these three type

TencelG100 process: wood pulp NMMO (methyl-oxidized marin) dissolved filtration spinning coagulation bath coagulation water drying crimping cut into fibers.

TencelA100 process: undried filament bundle crosslinker treatment, high temperature baking, washing, drying and curling.

Due to the above different treatment methods, it can be seen that in the process of grey cloth printing and dyeing, the fiber of G100 tensilk absorbs water and expands, which is easy to fibrinize, and the surface forms a general style similar to peach skin velvet (frost feeling), which is mainly used in the field of tatting. The A100 is mainly used in the field of casual wear, professional wear, underwear and all kinds of knitted products because of the cross-linking agent treatment in the fiber state, and the hugging between the fibers is more compact. In the process of treatment, the cloth surface will always keep the smooth state, and in the later period of taking, washing is not easy to pilling. LF tends to be between G100 and A100, mainly used in bed, underwear, home wear and knitting fields

In addition, it is worth mentioning that because of the presence of cross-linking agent, A100 can not be treated with mercerization, and the treatment is mostly acidic conditions, if the use of alkaline treatment will degenerate into standard tencel. In short, A100 day silk itself is very smooth, so there is no need to do mercerization. A100 fiber is acid resistant but alkali resistant

General application of Lyocell:

For denim, the yarn count is 21s, 30s, 21s slub, 27.6s slub

To make bed fabric, the yarn count is 30s, 40s, 60s
